I was asked on Friday to do a last-minute shoot for Magdalen College. I accepted on the condition that my children would be present, since Jessica was out for the afternoon. That was fine, so they came along, and I used them as doubles to test my settings--which was doubly convenient, since I can't post the actual photos (they'll be used in an upcoming ad):
I'm sure that Cecilia was only willing to sit because it involved sitting on a rock, while Thomas (who was both sick and tired) couldn't bear to sit long enough for me to capture one image with him sitting next to her.

Sarah + Denis + Jasmine
I'll be photographing Sarah and Denis's wedding in July, and we just met today to discuss the plans. Afterwards, we went to a local park to enjoy the weather and get some photos.

Shakespeare's birthday
Yesterday (April 23rd) was Shakespeare's birthday, and Saint Anselm College has a great tradition of celebrating it with a marathon reading of all 154 sonnets, interspersed with performances of scenes from his plays. The performances were much more visually interesting (and more challenging to photograph), and here are a few of my favorites:
Hamlet
Wall, from A Midsummer Night's Dream
from Julius Caesar

April baptism
A moment near the end of a baptism last Sunday. I like the framing of the baby's face, which is highlighted, with the icon in the background.

josh + jen
From an impromptu session. Josh and Jen were a wonderfully easy couple to photograph, and we had great light at the end of the day. I enjoyed the whole process, from capture to final edits. Thanks to both of you, and see you soon.

Chris Gosey, Iconographer
I just finished editing a photography assignment for Parable magazine. I had met Chris last summer, and he welcomed the writer and I into his home for an afternoon a few weeks ago. I think this was the only exposure I made in his living room (most of our time was spent in his multi-room studio), and it's probably my favorite of the entire day.

Anything Goes
So I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph the Saint Anselm College Abbey Players' production of Anything Goes last night. The cast and crew put on a great show, and above are just a very small sample of the event.
