Fr. Iain

Fr. Iain is the director of the Chapel Art Center at Saint Anselm, an accomplished artist, and a good friend. I asked him to sit in his office for me over a year ago, but I just recently returned to these photographs. A portrait of an artist:

Carey, in the studio

Carey Cahoon and I are longtime friends from Saint Anselm, and over the past year she has been instrumental in my photography, both in front of the camera (with theatre kapow) and behind (set designing for the same and for The Abbey Players, as well as directing the latter). She had recently asked me for new headshots, and I am grateful that we could spend time collaborating in the studio.

Kelly + Arti, in the studio

I've known Kelly for a few years via Saint Anselm College, and we've discussed photography a few times. When I placed an open call to friends for studio subjects, she and her fiancé accepted.

Linda and Rebecca

I ended last weekend's event with a brief portrait session for Linda and Rebecca. We had sufficiently warm temperatures to make it seem like summer, despite the snow that had fallen previously in the week.

Linda's flowers

Linda and Rebecca had a lot of interest in their work at the Wedding Planning Weekend, so when I saw Rebecca trying to sneak in a few photos of their arrangements with a point and shoot, I immediately offered to help. I had most of my kit with me anyway, and my tripod was waiting patiently in the car. With the beautiful window light we had, these flowers were asking to be photographed.

Here's a sampling of some of the desserts that were available to guests at last weekend's event:

Wedding Planning Weekend at The Brass Heart Inn

I was invited to be the sole photographer at this event hosted by The Brass Heart Inn last weekend. A few others vendors and I were at the Inn all day, meeting and chatting with couples and each other. It was a great event: we were treated to some wonderful food, not even considering the bakers who brought their wares. I was very glad to have met Linda and Rebecca from Linda's Flowers and Gifts in Wolfeboro, as well as videographer Meg Simone from Intervale.

Here are a few photographs I made throughout the day; more to come soon.

Rite of Election

At this liturgical service, each parish from the diocese presents those individuals who are preparing to enter the Church at Easter. I photographed the second of two services held at Saint Joseph Cathedral.
