welcome to March in NH

Over the past few years, I've greatly enjoyed photographing the winter: besides being very peaceful, the landscape being covered in snow provides a wonderful simplicity for making unique compositions with great contrast. This year, however, I've barely ventured outdoors with a camera. Time seems to be at a special premium, but the frigid temperatures have quickly cooled any aspirations of venturing out for artistic purposes.

Fortunately, we've seen plenty of snowfall, and Saturday afternoon (following another 8" on Friday night and Saturday morning) finally provided me the opportunity to get outside (while waiting for the plowers to finish). The first two photos are self-explanatory; the last one is the view of our back deck, which sees neither the sun nor a shovel. I probably attack it once the temperatures rise above freezing; until then, it's not going anywhere, whether we want it or not.
